Ken Bob “Chapter a Day” (1985)

One of my all-time favourite songs, and a video that is historic, to me, in many ways. First, this is one of my very early music videos. Second, it is one of the first music videos with special effects, such as slow-motion, freeze frame, and chroma-style keying. It was produced at a time when I had no access to special effects editing, so I created the effects by channeling some of the footage through a TV studio mixer and filming the artist against a black background in the same studio. The river scene is up by the river near the former Blue Mountain Inn, which became a favourite location for many video productions, up to this day. The other scene was downtown Kingston, near to the waterfront.
