A rare clip featuring the popular Jamaican comedian, Christopher “Johnny” Daley in his childhood star days on the popular 1980s/90s JBC TV comedy series “Lime Tree Lane”, produced by Pablo Hoilett for the Jamaica Broadcasting Corporation (JBC).
Christopher “Johnny” Daley is an actor, comedian, and radio and TV personality. A well-known award-winning theatre practitioner, he is one of Jamaica’s most outstanding stage talents. Known to many Jamaicans as “Johnny” from the 80’s and 90’s television programme, Lime Tree Lane. He is also known for his starring role in the award-winning movie “Kingston Paradise” and notable appearances in “One Love”, the movie, which starred Kymani Marley and Cherine Anderson. His comedic timing is beautifully captured in a scene in his latest cameo appearance in the Idris Elba-directed movie “Yardie”. He has excelled in the industry for more than 30 years.
Although his career began as a child-star actor on TV and in theatre, he has been able to reinvent himself and stay relevant by improving his craft as an experienced and professional entertainer, Corporate Ambassador, Influencer, and Entertainment Producer. Currently, he is the Chief Happiness Officer (CHO) of the Victoria Mutual Building Society, Director of Johnny Live Productions Limited, Host of the popular MegaMart Infomercial, Creator and Executive Producer of the Johnny Live Comedy Bar, which he still manages to host.
He has performed at numerous stand-up comedy and entertainment events both locally and internationally, including being selected as a top 20 semi-finalist in the Laugh Factory’s Funniest Person in the World Competition 2016 where he traveled to Helsinki to represent Jamaica. His live performance average score of 9.3 was the second highest in the competition. Among his international performance credits includes opening for David Mann at the Brooklyn Centre of the Performing Arts (November 2015) and the International Comedy Showdown at the Sugar House Casino, Philadelphia (March 2016) to name a few.
Christopher possesses a rare ability to read his audience and deliver accordingly. His ability to think on his feet and deliver one-liners at the speed of light is a testament to his skill and experience with audiences worldwide. He believes in making people laugh and in finding new talents in the field through his roving Johnny Live Comedy Bar series. He is responsible for jump-starting the careers of well-known stand-up comedians and comedic actors in Jamaica through the Comedy Buss TV Series, in which he was both host and Co-Executive Producer. Christopher continued to entertain the nation and the world on his radio programme the Johnny Live Show a highly successful radio programme he created and executively produced.
