In Memory Of Frankie “Dancehall” Paul

Part of the first wave of Dancehall artistes, Frankie Paul was often referred to as the Jamaican Stevie Wonder, not so much because of his visual impairment but more because of his vocal range.

At the time of his coming, Dancehall as a genre had just broken into the Jamaican mainstream, and by the mid 1980’s Paul was one of the most prolific hit makers.

Affectionately called Frankie “Dancehall” Paul he was one of the most touring artistes in the world and was still a big favorite of Reggae fans everywhere up to the time of his passing.

Frankie Paul succumbed to Kidney failure at the University Hospital of the West Indies in Kingston Jamaica.
